What we collect

If you read without signing in: We collect anonymous reading session data — time on page, scroll depth, and whether you reached the end of a chapter. This data is not linked to any identity.

If you sign in to respond: We collect your email address (for authentication only), the name you choose to go by, and your responses to story questions — including selected words and any free text you write.

What we don't collect

We do not use cookies for advertising or behavioral tracking. We do not sell, share, or license your data to third parties. We do not use your responses to train AI models. We do not track you across other websites.

How responses are used

Your responses to story questions are anonymized before they reach the writing team. The AI writing ensemble sees aggregate patterns — the shape of what all readers said — not individual responses. These patterns influence the emotional direction and moral texture of subsequent installments.

AI disclosure

The story content in Tessera is generated by an ensemble of AI agents, guided by human editorial direction and shaped by reader responses. The writing process, voting questions, and editorial briefs are produced through collaboration between human and artificial intelligence.

Cookies

We use a small number of functional cookies: an authentication token (if you sign in), your reader ID, your display name, and your display preferences (theme, font size, contrast). These are not used for tracking.

Data retention

Reading session data and vote responses are retained for the duration of the project. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at the email below.
